GBBCC founding date: February 1, 2006
MISSION
To provide leadership for the growth and development of Black-owned and operated businesses, and to facilitate the economic empowerment of the Black community in the Greater
Baltimore Metropolitan Area.
The goals and objectives of GBBCC shall be:
· To share our experiences through consultations, seminars, conferences, summits;
· To support GBBCC members’ activities whenever possible;
· To do joint ventures whenever possible;
· To share information as timely as possible;
· To attract and service our target market;
· Establish relationships w/ professionals/organizations;
· To promote our businesses, history and culture through educational forums and programs;
· To address critical problems or issues that Black businesses;
· To raise funds and/or invest money in our organization in an effort to help our members;
· Advocate on behalf of GBBCC members before private & public entities;
· Through media, GBBCC website, email, letters, highlight issues that affect Black businesses.
Activities:
· Host professional meetings and workshops on business issues;
· Participate in trade shows, heritage festivals, business events;
· Host an annual Black business summit, expo and fundraising dinner;
· Organize get-acquainted outings, networking events;
· Identify target market; create a plan to reach them. MAP it out;
· Host strategic planning meetings as it relates to small African American businesses;
· Form sub-committees to address Business issues, problems and concerns;
· Support and/or assist co-member organization events, activities and venues
· Support other African American businesses, organizations and community initiatives.
